Over the past couple of years, BoardSource has released important information inviting a rethinking of traditional board governance models for community impact organizations.

In her groundbreaking article, “The Four Principles of Purpose-Driven Board Leadership,” then BoardSource CEO Anne Wallestad underscored the reality that successful organizations operate in an eco-system and not unilaterally in contributing to sustainable community change. A follow-up paper, “Reimagining Boards for High,” goes even further to respond to recent board research conducted by BoardSource and other organizations with specific suggestions for action.

At the next Research to Practice Forum for Interim Executives, we will unpack the six recommendations outlined in “Reimagining Boards for High Impact.” 

Third Sector Company and the Interim Executive Academy in partnership with the Alliance for Nonprofit Management facilitate these monthly gatherings to discuss interim leadership issues in the context of relevant research from the nonprofit sector. Each session is framed by a particular research study, and participants receive a link to that study when they register.
