Emotional Intelligence for Interim Leaders

When an interim executive steps into a leadership role, it can be emotionally challenging trying to apply the methodologies of professional transition practices in a high-anxiety environment. Many times, when an executive departs a nonprofit organization, there are significant emotions about the transition that surface and significantly impact the culture. All interims will experience “feelings” about the organization, its works, situations, and people.

Interim Executives Academy has designed this deep-dive continuing education seminar to encourage aspiring and practicing interim leaders to consider how they understand, demonstrate, and keep in check their emotional intelligence as an integral element of their leadership success.

Participants will:

  • Review the five key elements of Emotional Intelligence
  • Discuss strategies interim leaders can employ to remain self-aware of their presence and behaviors during the interim engagement
  • Hear from experts who specialize in helping leaders to consider their emotional intelligence
  • Learn from an interim executive who recently was faced with emotional intelligence challenges in a high-anxiety environment

We encourage those from historically underserved communities to apply.
