Board Chairs Roundtable: Creating a more equitable, diverse organization

While people have been discussing the topic of equity for years now, many efforts fall short of making any measurable changes at all. This conversation will address where some of the typical pitfalls are, how to identify opportunities for change, and talk about the importance of creating measurable goals.

This special session will be a safe space to talk with board peers to increase understanding, participate in group problem-solving and discuss advancing justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in their board leadership roles.

Board Chairs Roundtable is a monthly 90-minute online discussion among board members from across North America, offering a deep dive into key elements of nonprofit board governance. Participants pay $30 per session. (Six months of Roundtable fees are included in the Board Chairs Academy tuition to enrich the Academy experience for current participants.)

For more information about schedules and topics, view the Fact Sheet. All Roundtables are sponsored by the Board Chairs Academy.

Third Sector Company, Inc. is committed to advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion as foundational to its programs.

We acknowledge and honor the fundamental value and dignity of all people; and we pledge our individual and organizational efforts to build respect, dignity, caring, and equitable treatment for all. As an organization, we are committed to transforming the world into one that promotes social justice and freedom from oppression, including but not limited to, racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, ageism, and ableism.

Thus, we aim to be adaptable, actively anti-racist, embracing cultural differences, and to be accessible for people who are differently resourced and differently abled. Since we do not want financial hardship to be a barrier to participation, there are several seats reserved in each of our fee-based programs for confidentially awarded scholarships. We encourage those from historically underserved communities to apply.
